How to Kick Start Your Morning Workout

If you're stuck in a rut you're not alone; it's been a long winter and it's hard to find the motivation to get back into a workout regime after you've spent months gorging winter food goodness. However summer is too close for comfort, so we've found 3 of the best ways to help motivate yourself and kickstart your morning (or afternoon) workout!

It's all about changing the way you think. We know, this is a little broad. So let us explain. The old saying goes 'it's not about winning every battle, it's about winning the war' and we're not about to disagree with that. But we are going to manipulate that slightly to help re-train the way our brain thinks about things. In this scenario achieving our summer body is equivalent to winning the war. But to help us get there, we have to win as many battles as possible.

Stay with me on this. It's Monday and you don't want to get up half an hour earlier to go for a run, but if you push yourself to wake up and get out there you've won that war and I promise you'll carry that victory with you through the day. 

Which takes us to the dreaded 3.30itis scenario. You're craving a little something something to satisfy your sweet tooth and get you through the rest of the day and the cookie jar is calling your name. If you can muster the will to resist, you've won that battle - and you won't forget that feeling of success in a hurry. In fact, next time you're craving something sweet (let's assume it's post-dinner dessert) it will empower you to resist again, thereby winning that war. 

If you take it battle by battle, it's much easier to handle and each win will spur you on for the next win.
